As we near the culmination of the innovative #INSPECt project, we can't help but look back at the milestones achieved and the significant strides made in enhancing patient care during hospitalization. Vidavo is proud to have been a part of this groundbreaking project, which has focused on reducing morbidity, mortality, and hospitalization time and cost through continuous patient monitoring.
According to recent studies, 17% of all hospitalized patients experience an adverse event during their hospital stay, with most #critical events giving warning signs 6 to 8 hours in advance. INSPECt, with its real-time monitoring system, is designed to detect these early warnings and provide personalized care to patients, moving away from reactive practices towards preventive healthcare.
The INSPECt system is comprised of a mattress cover embedded with dozens of micro-sensors, #tracking vital parameters such as #heart and respiratory rates, patient position, and surface pressures. The collected #data is processed by intelligent #algorithms to detect early stages of pathological conditions and potential pressure ulcers.
With its user-friendly interface and ability to send data and early warning notifications wirelessly to base stations and portable devices, INSPECt facilitates faster clinician intervention for patients in risk situations. The ultimate goal of INSPECt is to transform the common hospital bed into an intelligent patient monitoring station, enhancing the quality of hospitalization.
